BIKE FITTING
Pain isn't "normal." However many believe that the pain between your shoulders; saddle induced numbness or aching knees and back is just part of cycling. Eliminating discomfort and improving pedaling efficiency is an integral part of the fitting process. Our goal is to make your riding experience more rewarding by examining every aspect of your cycling comfort and efficiency. If your body is not in biomechanical alignment with the mechanics of the bike, energy is wasted due to inefficient power transfer. Numerous cyclists from beginner leisure cyclist to elite riders are comfortable but unaware that their bike position is bio-mechanically inefficient. It is also common to waste energy due to lack of core stability, poor flexibility, incorrect saddle height and position, poor pedaling technique and poor cleat placement. It is the most in--99depth series of fitting services available anywhere in Ohio and caters to beginners as well as professional athletes.

Dartfish Video Analysis:

Minus a pair of Zipp 808's (which we will gladly mount for you), one of the easiest ways to increase cycling performance can be acquired in as little as two hours. A proper bike fit is the most overlooked factor in cycling performance and one of the easiest ways to increase speed. In the wrong position, an increase in fitness will not always equate to increased speed.
Cycling experience is an important factor because it is important to know how long an athlete has been riding in a certain position. Due to our adaptable nature it is possible to ride a saddle two inches below optimal but you will not activate the hamstring and gluteal muscles correctly, and for sure this will limit the amount of power generated.
Previous injuries can have a huge impact on your cycling position. A broken ankle from 15 years ago can change riding symmetry and result in imbalances. Many imbalances can be corrected or reduced by shimming, tiling, offsetting, etc. Our experienced fit specialists will be able to explain which option is ideal for your given circumstance.
Correct cycling position is a question of arranging three contact points between the rider and bike: 1.Where the feet clip into the pedals, 2.Where the sit bones contact the saddle, 3.Where the hands/elbows hold the handlebars. The cleats are the only contact point locked into position and changes here can influence the action of the entire leg. Seat height and fore/aft position influence the transfer of power between the legs and the pedals. Aerobar height determines comfort and aerodynamics but we must be careful, bars that are too low relative to seat height can decrease power production. For triathletes, these factors are especially important because they must be maintained while trying to get the athlete as low and aerodynamic as possible.
We will provide you with a comprehensive bike fit that includes a dynamic assessment, using tools like Dartfish video analysis software, we can determine if your cycling posture and pedaling mechanics need improvement. This software can reveal problems with joint motions and display pre and post positions simultaneously using an overlay function that can fade in and out between the two. This software can also determine if changes we make to the bike setup affect technique or dynamic fit, i.e. how an increase in seat height can increase your ankle plantar flexion. These changes to form are not always readily apparent visually, but by using slow motion video playback or zooming in on a joint angle it can be very discernible.

Wobblenaught Laser Precision Bike Fitting:
Are you as comfortable as you can be? Is your position optimized for your fitness level, flexibility, race distances, and terrain? Did you know that you can pedal more efficiently? We take up to 15 different body measurements including a foot template. This is our most sophisticated fitting process for the serious road or mountain bike rider. A Computrainer with spinscan will also be used to measure power and pedaling efficiency. Click on the Wobblenaught link to read more about this extraordinary fitting process!
Everybody is custom, the bicycle must be a continuation of the cyclist. Using a quantitative scientific method we match the bicycle geometry to the cyclist.
Maximum performance will be achieved with a precision custom-fit bike.
By taking precise measurements of the bike rider's anatomy and obtaining the correct bike geometry, Wobble-naught provides you with the best "range-of-motion" and best "line-of-pull" for your muscles to perform work. Our system is based in CAD (computer aided design) technology.

F.I.S.T. Professional Measurement:
This Professional Analysis is a triathlon bicycle specific fitting. It is performed by a F.I.S.T certified fit professional. Trained by Quintana Roo founder Dan Empfield. We use your actual bike to determine the right seat angle, hip angle, knee angle and arm angle while in aerobars. A CompuTrainer with spinscan is used to measure power and pedaling efficiency.
This evaluation is included FREE with every new triathlon bike purchase at our store.

Standard Measurement:
The Standard Analysis calculates the ideal bicycle size and position of the cyclist. With the aid of a computer drawing each client can make a justified choice of which new bicycle fits. The Standard Analysis takes into account foot length, inseam, torso length, arm length, shoulder width, sole thickness, pedal height, and saddle type.
This evaluation is included FREE with every new bike purchase at our store.

Shoe/Cleat Adjustment:
We use a specific laser alignment tool to determine the optimum alignment of your foot to your cleat and pedal. Benefits from this measuring and placement system include; optimal power transmission, reduction or elimination of leg twist, a more fluid and natural pedaling position will be established, hot spots on the foot likely diminish or disappear completely.
This evaluation is included FREE every pedal and shoe combination system purchase at the store.
